The government is giving the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate the task of starting a strategic impact assessment of three offshore wind areas that may be relevant for opening and tendering in 2025. The government has full pressure to develop the offshore wind nation Norway. NVE has also been commissioned to start with strategic impact assessments of the 17 other areas that are relevant for tendering forward towards 2040. These are planned to be completed by the end of June 2025. The government’s aim is to allocate land with the potential for at least 30 GW of offshore wind production on the Norwegian continental shelf by 2040.
