The European Union developed a guide for SMEs on ‘Trading with Vietnam’ with a chapter dedicated to public procurement. The guide focuses on both regulatory and practical issues relevant for European SMEs doing business in Vietnam. Particularly the changes the free trade agreement between the European Union and Vietnam brought or will bring about are highlighted.

One part of the guide focusses on public procurement as the free trade agreement also deals with this topic. In chapter 8, an introduction to public procurement in Vietnam is provided, as well as an overview of how the agreement increases access to the procurement market, what processes exist and how one can appeal the process or decisions.
