Norway has a healthcare system under pressure, with a wave of elderly people, a higher frequency of chronic diseases and a shortage of healthcare personnel. After eight years of testing, an evaluation came from the Norwegian Directorate of Health with a recommendation that the municipalities should offer digital home follow-up to seriously chronically ill patients. Companies from the sector point out that the NOK 16 million that the government has put on the table, with plans to speed up the spread throughout the country, are not enough. They are calling for financial support for operations, reimbursement schemes when targets are achieved and DRG codes that meet this type of follow-up.
