Ministry of Health announces 3.5 billion COP to strengthen public hospitals

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Carolina Corcho, announced that the government of Colombia will make a budget available of 3.5 billion for the strengthening of public hospitals. ADRES (Colombia Healthcare Social Security Resources) will be deconcentrated, so that it specializes as a live information system, and decisively redirects resources directly. The organizations at the national level that will accompany the decisions will also do so through audits and observation on tariff regulation, which includes the pharmaceutical industry.

In another aside, the minister referred to the special labor regime for workers in the health system, which puts an end to outsourcing and would begin in public hospitals, within a gradual projection.
