“Oslo will become the first city with a zero-emission public transport system. All ships, buses, subways, trams, trains will be fully electrified”, Vice Mayor for Public Ownership and Business Development, Victoria Marie Evensen, The City of Oslo stated in her opening speech at Oslo Innovation Week 2022.

Now that electric solutions have become the norm in Oslo, the latest procurement contracts for buses and ships – according to the deputy mayor – show that their operating costs are also lower than traditional diesel vehicles. In addition, according to Evensen, Oslo has adopted a decision that by 2025, all municipal buildings to be constructed must have 0 emissions. Companies participating in the tender will receive additional points if they use tools with 0 emissions.
