The Ministry of Local and Regional Affairs’s learning network for “smart mobility”, which will contribute to new solutions for public transport and personal mobility in the districts, was formally completed in autumn 2022. In rural areas, small markets and low demand provide a poor basis for ordinary public transport offers. This is particularly a challenge for young and older permanent residents, the tourism industry and also for other parts of the business world. Thus, Norway is looking for solutions for these problems, such as self-driving buses or collaborative transport.
