The government has full pressure to develop the offshore wind nation Norway. For the tendering round in 2025, NVE has recommended that the government consider the possibility of the already open areas Sørlige Nordsjø II and Utsira Nord being expanded with the fields Sørvest F and Vestavind F. In addition, the government wishes to carry out a strategic impact assessment of the Vestavind B area. The government’s ambition is that, by 2040, land with the potential for 30 GW of offshore wind production will be allocated on the Norwegian continental shelf.
